Textil Bau, founded in 1999, is a company that designs and implements projects in the field of textile architecture.

The firm is known for its challenging membrane constructions throughout the world, in particular on cruise liners and ocean-going yachts, as well as in trade fairs and exhibitions, hotels, gastronomic areas, and landscape gardening and architecture.

Textil Bau’s unique membrane constructions are created in cooperation with an established network of international engineers, steel and membrane construction builders, and installation experts.

Whether they are conical shapes, free forms or arches, Textil Bau’s membrane structures are intelligent and innovative solutions.

The company’s service starts with a consultation about the design and structure, covering detail planning, production and installation, and culminating in maintenance issues.

This enables Textil Bau to guarantee a professional and economical project management service, from the first design to the finished installation.

For the past fifteen years, Textil Bau has created and installed innovative membrane constructions for cruise liners. The experience it has gained in dealing with wharves and shipbuilders has helped the company develop into a confident and supportive cruise line partner.

Textil Bau specialises in designing membranes for pool areas, sundecks, entrances and event areas, highlighting the maritime character of the liner to enhance their attraction. Using elaborate shapes and intelligent technology, the company creates outstanding architectural and modern accents with functional uses.

The lightweight structures are designed by engineering specialists, so that they can safely withstand wind velocities of up to 250km/h.

Textil Bau distinguishes itself through project management, production, installation and maintenance.

In this way, the firm provides its customers with a professional and economical service, from the first design to the finished installation.

On board of the Norwegian Bliss Textil Bau has developed, produced and installed in total approximately 310 m² of textile roofing including the steel substructure. Each design has its own style and meets the high requirements of membrane constructions on cruise ships.

These structures were realized:

Crew Canopy, Deck 8
Stage Canopy, Deck 16
Leafs, Deck 16
Sundeck, Deck 18
Outdoor Dining, Deck 18
Bar, Deck 19

On board of the upcoming AIDAnova we are busy installing exciting new structures e.g. the signature sunbrellas as well as a beautiful calypso bar canopy.
